A Crystal New Year’s Ceremony

Posted by Michelle under Angels

Do you like the rituals involved with Magical Events like the Full Moon, Beltane, the Summer Solstice and New Year’s?

This is a wonderful ceremony from Judith Lukomski of Crystal Friends

New Year Ceremony!jar of rocks

New Year’s Eve is one of my favorite days.  I love the sense of completion as I review the past 12 months and the building excitement for the year ahead.  Following is one of  my practices to commemorate the current year and celebrate the next!

  1. Create a sacred space or alter; use music, flowers, candles ….
  2. Select several small stones & medium sized glass container.
  3. Record  your accomplishments & celebrate through acknowledgement in your journal.
  4. Make a list of the things or situations that you would like to release from the previous year on a separate sheet of paper.
  5. With intention read your list aloud placing a stone in the container to symbolize the release.
  6. Burn the list in a safe manner.
  7. Take the container of stones to the ocean or natural space and release them to be cleansed in the unconditional love of Mother Earth.  (This can be done the next day)
  8. Give thanks for the assistance you have received.
  9. With intention, enjoy a meditative state (remember adding quartz crystals to the environment amplifies the energy)
  10. Ask for clarity and direction for the New Year
  11. Record the information in your journal.
  12. Start today and continue throughout the year consistent action that supports your goals!

However you choose to see the Old Year out be Safe and EnJOY the Magic.  Tomorrow brings a whole New Energy to the world … and the “Blissings” Project!  (You’ll have to check back tomorrow for more info ~ a tempter for you: you’ll need your camera!)

Happy New Year!

Think, Plan, Dream & Declutter!

Posted by Michelle under Musings

These words were written to a lovely friend, this morning, in an email where I was sharing what I am going to do today.

As the final day of 2008 has arrived, it’s time for me to Think about what has happened in my year … Plan what I would like to happen in the New Year … Dream my most fantastic dreams about the ‘Perfect World of Michelle’ … and Declutter those things from my life in 2008 which I don’t need in my new 2009 world.

I have written my ‘jumping off’ list of categories to work through regarding my plans for the next 12 months.  These came from that wonderful book I was reading by Jack Canfield, “How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be”.

If you want to try this for yourself, the categories to think about in your Vision for Life Exercise are these: Finances – Job/Career – Free Time/Recreation Time – Body & Physical Health – Relationships with Friends & Family – Personal Arena – Community. (pp.49-51 in the above book)  As you think about these areas of your life, work out what they would involve in your Perfect World.

I am off to brainstorm ideas – or maybe it will be a ‘brain dump’, ie. getting every thought out of my head and onto paper; a great way to ‘declutter’ my mind and allow space for those wonderful thoughts about 2009.

By the way, while you are at the computer why not declutter your Inbox?  (Beverly was talking about this on her post here.) Or, sift through your Favourites and remove those which don’t fit you anymore.

Happy December 31st!  And, Happy Thinking, Planning, Dreaming and Decluttering!

It’s a rainy Tuesday morning, I’ve been sorting out my January Stampin’ Up! order (it’s Very Exciting!) and catching up on my Blog Reading.

I am still grinning – from ear to ear – after reading Beverly’s post-Christmas poem, which I share with you here …

Christmas Waist!

Christmas day is over and I am glad of that
I’ve eaten so much food that I am feeling rather fat
I stood on the scale and it gave a sad groan
I looked at the number and I uttered a little moan.

The turkey and spuds are sitting on my thighs
The yummy Christmas pudding and lots of mince pies
Have made my tummy look like a round beach ball
I wish that I was skinny and I wish that I was tall.

Instead I feel like Santa with a tummy and a grin
Rosy fat cheeks and nothing to fit in
So as the New Year comes around, I’ll start afresh again
Counting all my calories and saying Amen!

It was however, worth every yummy bite
I loved the food and I enjoyed a healthy appetite
It only comes just once a year and I did indulge
Next year, I’ll do it all again and suffer with the bulge.

(After standing on the scales – oops!)

I chuckle, too, because similar thoughts have been crossing my mind the last couple of days!

If you have had a laugh with Beverly’s poem, pop over to Vesta Poetry and leave her a comment.  :-D

Thanks, Beverly!

Christmas? It’s A Wrap!

Posted by Michelle under Joy Express, Musings

Monday morning and I am experiencing Clear Skies and Smooth Sailing.  Christmas is over, we survived a Very Busy Week with much success.

Our week was filled with visiting Grandparents; the boys’ girlfriends; Daniel’s mates; lots of breakfasts out; Curves & Coffee; food, food & more food (a special Thank You to the Research Butchers – their meat was/is FANTASTIC!); and lots of lovely presents.

The weekend was filled with sleepy family members; lots of taxiing of Josh & Daniel to their respective girlfriends’ homes; and Darren, our lovely builder, finishing the building of a wall in our mezzanine level bedroom.  WOW!  I feel like a proper grown up again!  We have a wall, with a door that closes easily, and finally (after almost 15 years) Complete Privacy.  Yay!

The peace in our house is Blissful.  Our decorations are down and put away (largely because Darren was sanding and I did not want to find dust & yuk over tinsel & ornaments when we open them next year!), the fridge is empty and we can get back to the normal running of the household.

As I stood at the clothes line this morning, I realised how peaceful life is after the storm of busy-ness.  And, I was Grateful.

However you are spending this few days before New Year’s, remember the peacefulness.  :-D

What a Beautiful way to wake up … The Priests singing “O Holy Night” on one of the American ‘Breakfast’ Shows this morning.  The link to You Tube shows the gentlemen rehearsing the Christmas Carol.

It made me think for a moment about how music inspires me.  I was listening to the Priscilla, Queen of the Desert soundtrack, yesterday, turned up Really Loud, and found myself dancing and shedding a tear.   Music comes from the Heart.  And, Christmas comes from the Heart.

Over the last few weeks, I have been caught up in the everyday life things and had little time to really spend focusing on those things which Make My Heart Sing.  And, to be honest, I kind of forgot what actually does make my heart sing.

When I heard the beautiful and magnificent voices of  The Priests, I remembered.  I remembered that I am happiest when I work from my heart space.

Today, on this most wonderful Day before Christmas, remember to Live from your Heart.  Slow Down.  Take the Time to enJOY the Magic of the Festive Season, and Indulge in the Caring, Sharing and Love which makes this time of year so special.

What gives me JOYTinsel, Christmas Carols, Smiles on the faces of strangers, the look of wonder and delight on my kids faces, scented candles, flowers in my garden, birds in my bird bath, David’s Love.

Live Your Bliss this Christmas … and you will be Sharing the JOY of life.

Merry Christmas!  :-D
