Rock God

'Backs to the Wall' perform I am married to a Rock God.

David had his first ever live performance at a Rock Concert organised by Manhattan Music, a couple of weeks ago.  The whole family ‘rocked’ up to spend an evening indulging in the music performed by bands, created by the folks at Manhattan.  The students who take lessons at this music school were invited to participate in the once a year event, placed in groups and given a song to perform.

David’s band, “Backs to the Wall”, included a bunch of ’40-something’ guys with a couple of ‘young’ blokes to round out the instruments.  They performed “Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd.

It was awesome!  David - Lead Guitarist for

David had the lead guitar role and he found it really challenging … being the only introvert in our family does come at a cost – performance anxiety has been a way of life for David over the couple of months leading up to the concert.

And, he played BRILLIANTLY.  I had so many Proud Wife Moments!  Even Kels was getting emotional.  The following morning, when Daniel got up, his first comment was “Wasn’t Dad fantastic?!”

I know that David wasn’t all that happy with parts of his performance but we all thought he was Absolutely Brilliant.  We really did feel that we had time warped back to the 80′s (or was it the 70′s?) to a real Pink Floyd performance.

Well done, Guys!

… Did I mention that I am married to a Rock God?!  LOL.

A couple of weeks ago, a lovely young English backpacker arrived at my front door, in the rain, to offer me the services of Aussie Farmers Direct ~ milk, fruit and vegetable delivery to my door each week.

Wow!

This last week we have had a milk delivery on Wednesday (do you remember the ‘old’ days when the milko would arrive with milk at your door?), fruit and veg delivery on FridayAussie Farmer's Market Fruit Box.jpg and milk again on Saturday.

Wow!

Lovely John, who delivered the fruit and veg boxes brought them right into my kitchen and popped them onto the bench for me.  Fantastic!  So, for a few days we were overflowing with fresh produce … need to ‘tweak’ my order for future deliveries. What an amazing process!  What a wonderful option!  What a healthy way to live!

Woo Hoo!

Diamond Creek Town Fair

Posted by Michelle under Happenings, Joy Express

2 weeks ago, we spent a few hours at the Diamond Creek Fair.  The boys were working at the Balance Gymnastics display and I was participating in the Line Dancing performance. Line Dancing This year, my Line Dancing class had 7 performers and our teacher, Pam, and we did 5 dances – phew!  It was heaps of fun and we all made a few mistakes but it was cool.  Daniel and Josh had a break from their Gym responsibilities so they could come and watch me, and brought a group of theDaniel juggles knives other coaches over to watch, too.  That was fabulous, except that everytime I looked at them, we all grinned at each other, and I lost my step!

Balance Gymnastics showed the gymnasts ‘doing a class’, as if they were at the gym club, and also had circus displays.  Our Circus coaches, Scott and Gypsy, are awesome!  They had a roped off area for kids to show off their skills, and also allow ‘audience’ members to give things a try.  Kels practised a couple of skills, too.  Scott & Josh pass juggling clubsDaniel, ever the showman, decided to juggle knives just as the gorgeous ballet girls were passing by ready for the parade.  They were in awe of his performance and quite safe from the flying knives – mostly!

Scott and Josh showed off their prowess with juggling and passing clubs – an inspiring process to watch!

All in all, it was a successful day’s event, with great weather, and a wonderful way to support each member of our family.

Coffee Treat Box UStamp Project #1This month, I have been indulging in Fabulous Projects created by incredibly talented women, all of which involve using my large Stash of Stampin’ Up! product.  I must say that the inspiration is such that if I wasn’t otherwise occupied with my Lightworker business I would be out there holding stamping workshops so I could Share the Joy of this wonderfully creative process.  Criss Cross Box UStamp September 09

So far, I have created a ‘Coffee Treat Box” which can be filled with coffee/tea/chocolate and would make a wonderful gift; a “Criss Cross Box” (which I found quite challenging!) sporting an awesome flower centrepiece made with a strip of patterned paper folded in concertina style – fantastic! – and 4 coordinating cards; Cards for Criss Cross Box UStamp September 09 a “Mini Note Card Purse” with coordinating Love Notes (which I found seriously challenging!); and a cute little Pizza Box which holds more fabulous Love Notes.

This process is really like being back at Uni.  The stimulation is inspiring, the process is challenging, and I am thoroughly enJOYing the creative indulgence.

Loves Notes with Owls UStamp September 09On our site, there is a photo gallery which provides much JOY and heaps of ideas – my shopping list has grown considerably since wandering through the gallery looking at what everyone else has used in the way of colours and product.  Lots of people comment on your work, or add you as a friend, and it’s a really warm and friendly space to hang out.  A superb space and energy that is accessible in my craft room!  Woo Hoo!

Now that I am back online (after almost 2 weeks of no phone/internet & my ‘other’ life taking over) and it’s school holidays, I can indulge in this relaxed atmosphere … such a lovely way to spend my down time.  I think Kels and I are going to make a Notes & Treats Box each today.  Yippee!

Crystal Awakening Weekend Course

Posted by Michelle under Angels

Cathedral Lightbrary Grid 2009What an extraordinary event!  I have spent 3 days indulging in the Magic of Crystals and the Magnificence of Workshop Facilitator, Rachelle Charman.

Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I have spent the last 3 days finding my way back to my ‘regular’ life, after 3 days of Crystal Indulgence over the weekend!

I love hanging out with Rachelle and the crystals so have taken the opportunity to attend workshops when I can.  Last year’s event was very traumatic for me, during the Inner Child Crystal Healing process but I am thrilled to share that this year’s experience was profoundly healing.

Our group was AWESOME!  15 Gorgeous Goddess-like women sharing their Joys and their Tears – a very powerful experience.  Rachelle has really come into her own power so much more and is just a delight to listen to.

We played with crystals, participated in meditations and journeys to amazing places, immersed ourselves in crystals (the Expanded Heart Layout was just Divine to lay in!), and indulged in fabulous food while developing new friendships.

What a JOY!
