Rock God
David had his first ever live performance at a Rock Concert organised by Manhattan Music, a couple of weeks ago. The whole family ‘rocked’ up to spend an evening indulging in the music performed by bands, created by the folks at Manhattan. The students who take lessons at this music school were invited to participate in the once a year event, placed in groups and given a song to perform.
David’s band, “Backs to the Wall”, included a bunch of ’40-something’ guys with a couple of ‘young’ blokes to round out the instruments. They performed “Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd.
David had the lead guitar role and he found it really challenging … being the only introvert in our family does come at a cost – performance anxiety has been a way of life for David over the couple of months leading up to the concert.
And, he played BRILLIANTLY. I had so many Proud Wife Moments! Even Kels was getting emotional. The following morning, when Daniel got up, his first comment was “Wasn’t Dad fantastic?!”
I know that David wasn’t all that happy with parts of his performance but we all thought he was Absolutely Brilliant. We really did feel that we had time warped back to the 80′s (or was it the 70′s?) to a real Pink Floyd performance.
Well done, Guys!
… Did I mention that I am married to a Rock God?! LOL.
