Each year, I update my Christmas Card List which keeps a record of those to whom I have sent a card and those from whom we have received a Christmas Communication. That’s one of the “January JOYs“, along with updating the calendar for the New Year with all the birthdays (or in this year’s case – 3 calendars!!).
January is the one period of the year when normal routine is pretty much non-existent for many people and we can make the most of flexible time and indulge those things we don’t quite get a chance to do during the year. My January for 2010 has involved a LOT of decluttering ~ the craft room is done – YAY! – and feels fabulous, and the other parts of the house are a work in progress (and we ARE progressing with it).
Some observations about Christmas Communication, having now ticked off the list …
- I have many more friends than I realised.
- Christmas Cards get prettier and more unique every year.
- A card with “Dear _______, Merry Christmas! Love _______” is Very Unsatisfying.
- Once a year communication is So Much Better when there is a letter with happenings included.
- Christmas Cards bring a Lot of JOY!
So, I am going to try and remember these observations during December 2010 so I can send out a little Christmas Cheer to all in my Christmas Card List. I received the Cheer when the mail arrived and, again, as I checked off my Card List.
What a JOY!
